Nothing is small and ordinary about Rick and Debbie Beachner's home in Crestwood Estates outside of Pittsburg.
With large white columns, tall windows and immaculate granite and marble fireplaces, the Beachner's built a home with class, yet suitable for their large family.
With three children: Brock (10), Bracquel (8), Braxton (5), Rick and Debbie worked with a contractor and designer to build a home to suit their needs.
"We worked off a plan and tweaked it here and there where we needed it," Debbie said.
Debbie said they chose the quiet area of Crestwood Estates for its safe environment and rural atmosphere.
"We kind of wanted to be out of town, but we didn't want to be too far from town and we wanted to be on a paved road," Debbie said. "We like the estate because it was a little safer and there were people for our kids to play with."
The 6,000 square foot home built in 1998 consists of five bedroom, five bathrooms, living room, formal dining room, kitchen, breakfast nook, view room, home theater room, exercise room, an office, playroom and much more.
"(My favorite rooms are) either the dining room or the view room," Debbie said. "The view room I like because of the windows and you can sit in the chairs and look out. The dining room - it has some of the things that were my grandma's that kind of make it special and it has some intricate trim in here."
Along with many white columns in the house are three fireplaces, each unique in their own ways.
"The fireplace (in the living room) is another thing we spent a lot of time on, designing it and putting the glass in there," Debbie said. "We didn't want just a simple fireplace and we didn't want just wood."
Much of the furnishings are new and are neutral in color, with the exception of the kid's rooms, which are suited to their liking.
"They (the kids) pretty much picked out what they wanted in each room," Debbie said.
Brock's room is a Nascar theme, complete with his own bathroom and a small play room where he can watch television or play Playstation.
"Brock loves that little playroom up there, in fact they all do," Debbie said. "It's like a permanent tent up there and they sleep up there all the time."
Braxton's room is complete with Spiderman decor and an adjoining bathroom connects with Bracquel's room with is decorated with purple leopard print.
The home is great for entertaining because of the open floor plan.
"All the rooms flow, they are not choppy, they are open and that is one of the things we like about it," Debbie said. "When we have family over to visit we all aren't crammed into one room."
The full finished basement offers the Beachner's an area for work and entertainment. The basement includes: An office, a bar area, guest bedroom, bathroon, exercise room, pool table, playroom, home theater room and a room for Debbie's tanning bed.
The basement is complete with large windows and a walk-out patio that Debbie said she really enjoys.
"It opens the basement up, sometimes they can be kind of dark and dreary," she said.
In addition to the interior, they are still working to create a soothing atmosphere outside also.
"In the back we built a huge pond and we are going to put a waterfall on it and landscape it," she said. "We are far from being done with the outside."
